Smitten Cat Sittin' provides a unique Brisbane based service for the specialised care of cats in their own homes while their humans are away. As a cat lover and Veterinary Nurse, I understand how stressful it can be for cats to be placed into traditional boarding facilities as they are usually most comfortable and happy in their familiar home environment.

Several years ago when I planned to go away and knew one of my own beloved cats needed special care (Minka- who was in her senior years) I realised in home visits were important to minimise her stress and ensure she was healthy, eating well and most importantly, as comfortable as she could be without my presence. Though I missed her every moment I was away, I was lucky to have a family member in the veterinary industry care for her in my own home, which gave me piece of mind. Soon after, my other cat, Belski, a young rescued cat who I adopted, would also not cope well with going into boarding due to her anxiety and fear of change. As a result, Smitten Cat Sittin' was started so that other cat owners could have a relaxing holiday knowing their pets were in the best of hands in their own homes.

I provide home visits for general care with the added bonus of a health check and also medical care/medication administration if needed. This is especially important for older cats, those with special dietary requirements or those with anxiety or health issues. All cats deserve the highest quality of care and I ensure that each and every cat I visit is as happy and healthy as can be in their human's absence.

Meet N' Greet is always offered prior to the commencement of the Cat Sittin' so that I can be introduced to your cat/s and be shown the specifics of their care.

Feeding, litter changing, playtime, brushing, and a health check are always included, as are lots of pats and cuddles if your cat would like this. I recognise that all cats are different and that some want to play while others might prefer a gentle pat and chin scratch rather than playing. I aim to provide whatever your cat needs and wants so that the ultimate in comfort and a stress free environment is maintained whilst in my care. I will always be the person who visits so you can rest assured that you know who is entering your property, keeping it secure and caring for your much loved felines.

My service also includes free mail collection and bins in/out if required. Other services such as plant watering can be arranged (up to 5 potted plants are free), as can the care of other small pets such as birds, fish and guinea pigs. Text or email updates will be provided so you can be assured of your cat's well being while you are away. I also aim to take an update photograph of each cat I care for to email or text to you at no charge and can even do a full professional photo session for your cat as part of Smitten Portraits.
